ABOUT ME

mrc 2

Welcome to my site!

I’m a spiritual director, trained in the Ignatian tradition, and have engaged in one-on-one, small group, and large group spiritual direction and retreat work for the past fifteen years. I am also a Presbyterian pastor, and have served Presbyterian, Methodist-Presbyterian, and Lutheran Congregations. I’ve taught in the Religious Studies Department of a local university, and have done advocacy and educational work in mental health.

How did all of this come about?

I was an active member of Methodist and then Presbyterian congregations when, nearly twenty years ago, I stumbled onto The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. I completed the year-long Exercises with one of the great Jesuit masters of spiritual direction, an experience so profound that it led me to seminary and to a training program for spiritual directors. I was certified as a Spiritual Director by the Ignatian Spirituality Institute in Cleveland OH,  completed my M.Div. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and was ordained a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In previous lives I have been an educator — middle school through college levels — and an attorney, specifically in the area of family law. My husband and I have been married for a very long time, and are the parents of three children.
